Michele de la Menardiere is an abstract painter based in San Francisco, California. She exhibits her work throughout the U.S. and abroad. In 2016, her art was selected for exhibition at Superbowl City in San Francisco, CA. Her work is also part of the U.S. State Department’s Art in Embassies Program. Through this program she exhibited at the U.S. Embassy in Algeria and the U.S. Consulate in Kosovo, and her paintings were purchased for the permanent collection at the U.S. Embassy in Burkina Faso.
Michele’s art has been featured in 3 large-scale public art installations in the Washington, D.C. area: Emerge, an installation of 19 painting reproductions at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Crystal City, Virginia (2009-2019); Nascent Flight, an artwalk sponsored by The D.C. Commission for the Art and Humanities, Washington, D.C. (2007-2010); and Art Underground, an installation of two painting reproductions in the Crystal City Metro station, Crystal City, Virginia (2014-present).
Michele’s work has been featured on KQED’s Check Please! Bay Area (10th season/2015), in House Calls, The Washington Post (November 5, 2009), and in multimillion dollar home staging projects for Sotheby’s and The Ritz Carlton. Her work is part of collections at The Avalon 1st and M, Westin Hotels, The American Association of Water Agencies, D.C. Commission for the Arts and Humanities, One Medical, Stone and Youngberg, and Pennington Lawson.
